Love and Little Things: Rasor Elementary Partner Team Is Here For Good

Mary Jane Ballard helps to lead a local Chase Oaks Partner Team that is Here For Good for Rasor Elementary School. Mary Jane’s group has found creative ways to encourage staff and students alike, even in this COVID-19 season. Along the way, they have shown that little things done with love can make a huge difference.

Video Transcript
Hi, my name is Mary Jane Ballard. I was invited to be the team leader for Rasor Elementary and along with that, I brought my Lifegroup in to serve with me. We developed a great team of people around that. Recently we delivered to Rasor a trunk load of snacks for the students as well as Lysol wipes for the teachers. They were very encouraged by both of those and as you know it’s hard to get Lysol wipes. We’ve served in many ways at Rasor over the last couple of years and it’s just been a blessing to us each and every time that we go and serve. We’ve done a Christmas coffee cart; we stroll the hallways bringing Christmas cheer to the teachers. We do prayers and pencils at the beginning of each school year. We leave a prayer and a pencil on each desk and we pray over each student throughout the campus.

Encouragement from the Little Things
I feel like teachers are really encouraged by our partnerships and they’re just so appreciative of the little things that we do. And when I say little things, they weren’t anything of great grandeur. They’re just things that we will do by supporting them through prayer, little gifts throughout the year, and encouragement, and by having a team around them I feel that they feel real loved.

Taking Love to the Community
I would really like to invite everybody to join a team or get connected to a group that way you can get out and you can love on people. The Here For Good Project for our group and for the Rasor team means taking love to our community and our community is Rasor Elementary. It’s what we do, who we support, that’s who we care for.
