Jóvenes Chase Oaks Making an Impact

Jóvenes Chase Oaks (JCO) has been a life-changing experience for me.  Many people might think it’s an exaggeration when I say that it’s completely changed my outlook on the world—but it has!  When I first joined JCO, it was summertime, and I was going through a tough time.  But when I got to meet all of these new people and heard their own struggles, I didn’t feel so alone.  Getting to know so many varieties of people made me understand people more.  JCO has definitely contributed to my spiritual and social development and has helped me through a lot of the hard times in my life.  It’s incredible to know that I have people that I can turn to when I’m in need.  It feels immensely comforting to have a safe place to share one another’s victories and struggles.  We also get to help each other out, and we get the opportunity to have these remarkable experiences together and create memories that will last a lifetime.

At times life can be overwhelming, but coming together on Saturdays provides a break from the hectic pace of our lives and gives us something to look forward to during the week.  I’m very thankful for JCO!  Every leader and every group member means something so special to me.  I’m very blessed to be part of something so incredible, and I hope JCO continues to make an impact in other people’s lives like it has in mine.

Jóvenes Chase Oaks is our Student Ministry at our En Español campus (for Grades 6-12).  It launched in June 2016 and has already seen tremendous growth with roughly 25 students attending each week.  They meet on Saturdays, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at our 201 building on the Legacy campus. For more information on JCO, email Claudia Vega at cvega@chaseoaks.org.
