On New Year’s Day, flip a few flapjacks to create some connection in your neighborhood. It could be the start of a great tradition and relationships for years to come. And it’s easier than you think (we’re here to help)!
For over 40 years, Chase Oaks leaders Vince and Ellen Ellwood opened up their home on New Year’s morning to serve family and friends a simple pancake breakfast. Neighbors and co-workers came, and many new friendships were forged. The idea spread … and there are now pancake breakfasts in multiple states because of what the Ellwoods began.
This New Year’s Day, throw a pancake party for your friends and neighbors! Let us know you’re hosting one in your neighborhood, and we’ll provide you with some pancake party swag: a starter kit (pancake mix, spatula, mixing bowl, apron, and invitations) to help you get this tradition going right. Then, invite your friends and neighbors and get your griddles ready!
