Discussion Questions
Choose the questions for your group; no pressure to use all of them.
- What’s a song or phrase that instantly reminds you of stress or peace?
- How would you personally define worry? What does it feel like for you?
- Have you ever found yourself worrying about something that ended up not happening? How did that affect you?
- Read Matthew 6:19-21. What are some "earthly treasures" that tend to consume your thoughts or cause you to worry?
- Jesus says, “Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” How have you seen this play out in your life or in others’ lives?
- Read Matthew 6:22-23. What do you think Jesus means when he says, “If your eyes are healthy, your whole body will be full of light”?
- What are your eyes (and heart) most focused on lately?
- Read Matthew 6:25-30. Jesus uses birds and flowers as examples. What message is he trying to convey? How does this challenge your current mindset about needs, control, or God's care?
- Jesus says in Matthew 6:33, “Seek first his kingdom and his righteousness...” What would it practically look like for you to seek God’s kingdom first this week?
- Which of the two applications do you feel more drawn to this week? Option 1: Name Your Master – What might that master be? Option 2: Trade Worry for Worship – What specific worry will you commit to turning into worship?
- Close your time by inviting group members to briefly share one area they want to trust God with this week. Pray for one another to experience peace by releasing control and choosing worship over worry.

Put It into Practice (Between Meetings)
- This message talked about how to let go of worry. Spend some extended time reflecting on the following two applications:
- Name Your Master – What might that master be?
- Trade Worry for Worship – What specific worry will you commit to turning into worship?
