The Giving Tree
This year Chase Oaks will have a multi-faceted Christmas event, called “The Giving Tree” where we will have the opportunity to bless others who are in need right here in our own community this holiday season. We’ll be partnering with several organizations in the community including the Assistance Center of Collin County (Plano Santas), Gifts4Moms and a few local schools providing a variety of ways for us to make a difference in the lives of individuals close to home.
“Giving Trees” will be set up in the lobby areas the weekend of December 2/4 at each of our campuses /venues that will have “ornaments” hanging on them sharing opportunities such as purchasing clothes/toys for a family in need, providing a gift card for a pedicure to a hard-working single mom who may not otherwise ever get appreciated for her tireless efforts, and more!
Be sure to stop by the trees and pick an ornament or two that will give you the opportunity to be a blessing at this special holiday season of giving.
Specific Partnerships for the Event
Assistance Center of Collin County:
In partnership with The Assistance Center of Collin County we are again joining with Plano Santas to provide gifts for children in families that have been identified by the ACCC. If you want to come alongside one of these families, select a red "Santa Hat" ornament and go to the Plano Santas table in the lobby to register your desire to help that family. If you select one of these families, you will be asked to purchase gifts for all the children in the family, pick up boxes of donated food, and deliver both on Saturday or Sunday, December 17/18. Chase Oaks Church expects to help approximately 100 families through this program this Christmas.
Gifts4Moms
Single moms know how important holidays and special occasions are to their children so all resources go toward their children. But the holidays can be lonely and depressing for a single mom. Chase Oaks Church wants to help. We are collecting Christmas gifts for 200 single moms who otherwise may not have anything to open on Christmas Day. You can participate by selecting a green "Gift with Bow" ornament from The Giving Tree and purchasing a gift for a specific mom.
Gifts4Moms Christmas Outreach Event--Saturday, December 17, 4:00 p.m. @ 201
Additionally, there will be a Christmas party for these single moms and their children on Saturday, December 17 at the 201 building on our Legacy Campus. We will have childcare and activities for the kids, along with free food and entertainment for the moms. Help us make this Christmas special and help make a difference in the lives of single moms and their children. Single Moms interested in attending this event should download the application and email it to Stephanie at .
If you want to help make this event happen by volunteering your time, preparing food for the party or signing up to be a babysitter for the kids, please contact Stephanie at or 214.774.2194.
Families at Local Partnership Schools
We will also have a selection of families from our partnership schools in our community that are not being helped by other assistance organizations. The individual school administrative staffs, with the help of our Chase Oaks Church School Liaisons, will select these families. Similar to the Plano Santas families, we will be purchasing gifts for the children of these families. You can participate by selecting a yellow "School Bus" ornament from The Giving Tree and purchasing the gifts for the family. We hope to bless 20 or more school families.
