co-staff-web-peter-parkdna-icons-party-smlI love how we’ve been learning more about our Chase Oaks DNA through the “We Too” sermon series this fall. One of our DNA statements (This Is Not Our Party) reminds us that our weekend services are meant to provide strategic and effective environments to help reach the 1 million people in the 10-mile radius of the Legacy campus.Kidzone-Expansion-Space

Now that the Legacy campus expansion of our Kidzone space is complete (which prior to the expansion required us to have three services instead of two on Sundays), we are going to make an exciting change to our Sunday morning service times to create more effective environments for our guests.

New Year!  New Times!

Starting on January 1, 2017, Sunday morning service times will be at 9:30 and 11:15 a.m.!

There are multiple reasons why this is a smart move for our Legacy campus:

  • Churches that have three Sunday morning service times usually discover that one time is too early for most people and one is too late. The middle service becomes the “Goldilocks” time that is just right. At our Legacy campus our current 10:45 a.m. service is full (and sometimes overflowing). This is a great problem to have, but it’s still a problem when we want to continue to provide a welcome environment for our neighbors and friends. We’ve discovered that 9:30 a.m. is a much more attractive time for new guests than 9:00 a.m.  This move will actually open up more seats for our guests giving them two attractive times instead of one.
  • This enables us to move toward standard service times with our other campuses (except En Español which will move to 1:00 p.m. at the 201 Building) to reduce confusion. What we have seen at our Sloan Creek campus is that these two times are both about equally popular and convenient…not too early or too late for most people. When 544 moves into their own building, they will also adopt 9:30 and 11:15 a.m. service times.

For those who are totally not morning people and love the 12:30 p.m. service, 11:15 a.m. is later than our 10:45 a.m. service and hopefully will work.  Even better, Friday night has plenty of capacity and is the ultimate answer for a night person.  In fact, to continue to give room for our Sunday services, when most of our guests come, we are asking as many as possible to consider trying out a Friday service at 7:00 p.m. We think once you try it, you’ll love it!  It’s the same great experience as Sunday and opens up your whole weekend.

Thank you SO much for flexing with us and being awesome hosts for the guests who have yet to come.

Love all y’all!
