Life is complicated. We have so many commitments and not enough time. We spend a lot of our time trying keep up with the hustle and bustle of our everyday routines. Being on-the-go can cause us to face unexpected situations that might call for everyday life hacks.
Here are four everyday life hacks that will make your life simple.
Life Hack #1: DIY Kitchen Renovation
With a long to-do list, most of us do not have time for renovations or time to sell our house and buy a new one regardless of what we watch on HGTV. And hey, not everyone can afford to spend tens of thousands of dollars to build their dream kitchen. So, when you need more space to prep meals and you lack the counter space, simply open a drawer and place the cutting board inside the drawer. Then, just grab the knife and start chopping away. This allows you to prep on the counter and cutting board—almost as good as having an island (well, almost!).
Life Hack #2: No Milk, No Cream, No Problem
Whether you are out of milk and cream or you are trying to be healthier, there is a way to enjoy your coffee guilt-free in the morning. Add a pat of unsalted, grass-fed butter to your coffee. Some say it tastes like a latte, and others say it leaves you wanting more or Starbucks.
According to Fox News, some experts say putting too much butter in your coffee often can also have some negative side effects such as putting you at a higher risk of heart disease. But in moderation, it can provide short-term benefits such as a boost of energy throughout the day. Perhaps, this is not an everyday hack but one that can be used occasionally when you need the extra boost!
Life Hack #3: Easy Clean-Up
We all love hosting a party, especially during football season and around the holidays. When putting together your buffet display of food, you use a stack of platters, plates, and bowls to fit all the appetizers, main entrees, and condiments. It usually means there will be a clean-up party afterwards that no one wants to attend.
To make clean-up easier, simply use a muffin tin to serve all the condiments at a party. Rather than using different bowls and platters to include the condiments, put them in the muffin tin with plastic spoons for your guests to dish out. Putting all the condiments together will allow you to put different snacks and food together on the same platter. You do not have to worry about sauces getting on the wrong food. And you only have to clean up one dish for all the sauces and add-ons.
Life Hack #4: Airing Out Your Dirty Laundry
Going someplace new, whether for work or for vacation, is a lot of fun! You eat at new restaurants, learn about new cultures, and create memories with family and friends. The hardest part of traveling is packing up and going home. You already have a suitcase (or multiple suitcases) of dirty laundry to wash along with a million other things on your to-do list. And the worst part of packing your dirty laundry is it makes your whole suitcase smell by the time you get home.
To avoid these unpleasant odors and the urge to spray your bag down with Febreze, pack a bar of soap in your dirty laundry and let the fresh smell of lavender or clean linens permeate your bag.
