Being part of the church is like being part of a team. A team is made up of people who are organized to function cooperatively as a group. A team needs each team member to do their part in order for the team to be successful. Imagine a football team where every person is the quarterback. They really wouldn’t accomplish much. Imagine a soccer team where every person is the goalie. That kind of team will never be successful.
We believe that God has placed each of us into the church to be a part of His team. He has plans for Chase Oaks Church, and He has put us here for a reason. Romans 12:4-8 says the following: “For just as in one body we have many members, and not all the members serve the same function, so we who are many are one body in Christ, and individually we are members who belong to one another. And we have different gifts according to the grace given to us. If the gift is prophecy, that individual must use it in proportion to his faith. If it is service, he must serve; if it is teaching, he must teach; if it is exhortation, he must exhort; if it is contributing, he must do so with sincerity; if it is leadership, he must do so with diligence; if it is showing mercy, he must do so with cheerfulness.”
