"Christ Made Death to Die" By Roland Boyce
(Based on Philippians 2/Hebrews 2)
Clinging not to the status God’s equal conceding The Son set his glory aside, Making the need of mankind his single concern. In this world he came to reside.
Amidst the turmoil of our fallen estate The likeness of flesh he once owned, Taking the form of the servant assumed Like the very ones he came to atone.
In abject obedience to the death of the cross The King of Creation then came, The innocent Shepherd, the suffering Son, To atone for our guilt and our blame.
The champion of life defying the dark Christ broke the fetters of Hell, Now reigning triumphant beyond human pale His story eternal ages will tell.
At the name of The Son every knee will yet bow His allegiance each tongue will confess, The glory once forfeited is finally returned Our Risen King forever blessed.
CHORUS
Praise be to the True Lamb of God The victory to Satan has denied, Slain before the world began He came to make death to die.
