OASIS
OASIS meets every Tuesday night from 6:30-7:30 p.m.
at Southern Grounds Coffee Shop in Allen
OASIS is an adults-only group.
When a teen begins to exhibit extremely defiant, potentially addictive or dangerous behavior, parents may feel confused and alone--unsure how to get their teen back on track. Well-meaning friends and family may offer advice and support, but often the most help is found by interacting with others who have experienced the pain of a child in crisis. It is not easy to watch your teen suffer the painful consequences of his or her choices, and the family can easily become engulfed in chaos and anger.
OASIS was created by parents for parents in order to provide a safe environment to find encouragement and support as they walk through crisis together. Each session will have a time of sharing and support, as well as topics of discussion that can provide information and encouragement as you find a way to restore peace to your home.
Topics of discussion may include:
- Setting boundaries with your teen
- Logical and appropriate consequences
- The juvenile legal system
- Restoring trust
- Family communication
- Substance abuse and addiction
- The teenage brain
Don’t wait to get the help and support you need. Join us on Tuesday nights at Southern Grounds Coffee Shop in Allen or contact Steve Priess at 214.837.1369 for more information.
