"At the time that the capital campaign was kicking off, I was in a bit of an uncertain s ituation with my job. Needless to say, I didn’t know if I would have a job from day to day. I originally came up with a modest pledge amount. It was something I could afford and could do in one payment without really extending myself. But God had other ideas. Between the sermon Jeff gave about sacrificially giving, and some pretty major conviction from the Holy Spirit, I pledged much, much more than I could handle and that was safe at the time under the circumstances I was in.
I began to worry a bit after dropping the pledge into the offering basket. I worried a little more each day until….God brought me a new employer in a hurry, and guess what? My base salary was higher. In fact, it was increased by the EXACT amount that I pledged to the campaign.
Why did I ever worry or doubt? Silly me. Amazing!”
