Pre-marital Counseling
Preparing for Marriage: Pre-marital Counseling at Chase Oaks Church
As you anticipate your wedding day, we want to help you maximize your preparation for what will hopefully be a life-long journey together as husband and wife. On average, U.S. couples spend over $24,000 for their wedding. In addition, countless hours are spent planning and preparing for what will essentially be a 30 minute ceremony. While that is important, our goal is to help you do the most to prepare for the journey, not the event.
Chase Oaks asks that all couples wanting to have one of our pastors perform their ceremony go through our pre-marital mentoring program. This program pairs you with an older couple in our church that has been trained to take you through your pre-marital counseling. You would need to sign up for this at least 10 weeks before your wedding date. If you cannot meet this timeframe then you will need to arrange for pre-marital counseling through another source, pending our approval.
You will meet with your mentor couple over 5 sessions. The cost is $80 per couple. This includes two copies of the Preparing for Marriage book, a DVD resource on marriage, as well as an online assessment tool. You will receive a certificate upon completion of the program. To learn more about the program and get started, contact Janette Walker in Pastoral Care at our church office or email her at .
At Chase Oaks, we are committed to helping make marriages last a lifetime. Thanks for taking these steps to insure you get off to the best start possible.
