Details on what our baptism services look like.
One of the great privileges of baptism at Chase Oaks is the opportunity you have to invite a brother or sister in Christ to baptize you. This can be a parent, a trusted friend, someone who has challenged you spiritually, or a pastor. When you request to be baptized, you will be asked to select this person. Here are a few thoughts to help you make this important decision:
- Who invested in your life spiritually as you came to faith in Christ?
- Who has most challenged you on your spiritual journey?
During the service, a pastor will introduce each baptism candidate to the congregation. Following this introduction, we ask that those baptizing the candidates ask them the following questions publicly as a part of the service:
- “Do you believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God?”
- “Have you trusted in Him for the forgiveness of your sins?”
- “Based on your profession of faith, it is my privilege to baptize you in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.”
